Many expectant moms will fall into a high-risk pregnancy category, with about 6-8% of all pregnancies considered high risk. This is either because of issues that existed prior to pregnancy or in a past pregnancy, like diabetes or high blood pressure, or due to issues that developed during pregnancy that impact the mom, baby or both. ​
